Building from the name up
What it means to start with nothing.
LearnSmart had no website at all. Not an old one to improve — none. That makes the project a different shape from a redesign: there was no existing structure to argue with and no existing brand to preserve, so both had to be made.
Starting from nothing is a normal case here rather than an exception. It does mean the order of work changes: the brand and the words come first, because a site cannot be structured around a business that has not yet decided how it describes itself. Only then does the page map get settled, and only then does design begin.
Academic coaching is also a high-trust, personal purchase made by a parent on behalf of somebody else. The site has to carry a person, not just a service — which is why the photography and the voice were treated as deliverables rather than decoration.
